a Senior Chartered Physio Consultant will assess you at 1st visit.
Service Description
Your Initial Consultation and Physiotherapy Assessment MOT will last up to 60 minutes maximum depending on your injury (acute or chronic condition) and needs. This includes assessing more than 1 conditions or joints/injuries etc, The Senior Physiotherapist Consultant will ask you a range of questions about your problem, as well as complete a thorough physical assessment, which could include looking at your overall movement, strength, Reflexes, Nerves, Posture, muscles imbalances and endurance etc. The physiotherapist will then examine you. This may not be confined to the area of pain or injury but may include other areas that are causing or contributing to the problem. For instance, the neck can cause pain in the hand or elbow. The physiotherapist will explain what they are doing and ask you how it feels as they perform different tests. It would be helpful if you could think about the following before you attend your appointment: • How and when did your condition start? • What activities/ positions make your symptoms better or worse? • Have you had any treatment already for the condition? If so, what was the outcome? • Your family medical history and any medication. What are you hoping to achieve from Physiotherapy? Following your consultation, you will be able to discuss your condition and the best pain management plan for you. All management plans are individually tailored to suit your needs. Treatment options might include detailed advice and education on the problem and a tailored exercise programme to address movement quality and function. This can also be reinforced by manual therapy, Sports Massage, Cupping Therapy, Reflexology, Acupuncture, Pilates/ Yoga classes or One to one training and exercises and in some cases electrotherapy (Ultrasound machine, EMS, Tens, electro-Acupuncture pen). To get the most from your treatment you will be asked to follow advice and undertake exercises at home. You can expect to be at the centre of your care and all decisions made. Rest assured that physiotherapists are not here to make your problem more painful! Our examination will take into consideration your level of pain and the techniques and tests used will be adjusted accordingly. *(please wear or have with you a pair of shorts , a vest and a towel (If not we have clean towels onsite).
